WATER MANAGEMENT

Seasonal/Weekly/Monthly Guidelines

Since not all watering systems are the same, it’s recommended to have a rain gauge or watering gauge to measure the output of your watering system to have the best results. Pop up sprinkler heads are much different than rotor or MP rotor heads and require double the run times.  It is also very important to always soak and cycle your watering times as early in the day as possible, doing so will help avoid watering during high winds, and the water being evaporated by the sun before it gets a chance to sink into the soil.  Do not water the lawn every day, Infrequent long watering’s encourage stronger root growth, which in turn produces a healthier more resilient lawn.

Soak and Cycle method

• During most of the season it's recommended to have your timers set to water as early as possible

• Set timer to water 3 separate watering cycles instead of 1 long watering cycle, this will help prevent pooling and run-off

Example: Since I have pop up heads I set my timer for ( 6am 5-8min cycle ) again at ( 7am 5-8min cycle ) and lastly (8am 5-8 min cycle) I have it at 5-8min run times depending on the time of season, and how hot its been during the week to achieve the required moisture the soil demands
